What does it mean to give to our West Africa Village for Children charity…? One man knows about our careful stewardship within our organization and has entrusted us with a very generous gift. Keep reading to find out who has stepped forward with aid!
But first, understand that anyone donating to our cause can be assured that 100% of your donation will go into our WAVC project for both homeless and disabled children we are now pivoting to help. This longtime accomplishment is made possible by our twenty year association with a small group of people who completely cover the cost of administration separately from the charitable funds.
Secondly, the act of providing your gift to the West Africa Village for Children (WAVC) is not just a charitable gesture…it is a profoundly compassionate personal statement of values and priorities by each giver. It is an acknowledgement and a recognition of our collective responsibility to protect and nurture the most vulnerable among us. Thank you so much to all who are taking this journey of healing for others, and who are encouraging us daily toward our larger shared vision. God sees your heart to do His work as you are able and guided by His spirit.
Let everyone who receives our updates act decisively and generously, knowing that in saving young hurting children, we are casting the brilliant light of Christ into the darkest shadows of desperate circumstances. You are literally wiping away waves of tears with your generous hearts and replacing them with beautiful smiles. God bless you all for making that possible.A donation to our orphanage as well as our disabled children’s project, our two main efforts near Freetown, is a stand against the forces of cynicism that can at times overwhelm all good people into a lack of action. We’d love to have you join us in ay way you may choose, to cheer them on and tell them that more help is on the way soon! They are so brave & deserving of our help.
One fervent prayer was just answered in a very generous and tangible way when we were contacted by a very special person with a giving heart. We are excited to announce that WAVC has just received a generous donation of one hundred thousand dollars from Mr. Garry Weber, a well known philanthropist in Texas, through his Dallas based charitable foundation The Garry Weber Foundation.
Mr. Weber, a 1958 graduate of SMU and an All-American Honorable Mention on the ’57 SMU football team and a man of many talents, has yet again stepped forward with his firm commitment to our humanitarian cause. With decades of experience in the financial services industry, the former Dallas County judge, who also served on the Dallas City Council, has a long history of investing his time and money in community service and philanthropic efforts.
Garry’s gift to the West Africa Village for Children has helped accelerated our mission forward with a wonderful boost of much needed seed money to further our orphanage project! We are grateful beyond words to him and all who are associated with selecting WAVC as a worthy cause! Your gift will do immeasurable good for our kids. Thank you so much for your trust and faithfulness to our projects.
Lastly, as we continue to push forward, the cumulative impact of each individual donation grows more important every day as we stretch to reach our monthly goals to help keep all of our children properly fed and clothed. Please prayerfully consider making a monthly donation to our project if it would be more feasible.
By being a part of this very special cause, you are not simply helping alleviate much of the immediate suffering of these children, you are investing in a brighter future for all of us. Your help with our orphanage project is an act of courage and unselfishness that tilts their world more towards the kindness they need and deserve, as a reward for their own courage to persevere, stay strong and stay positive.
As for our disabled, look for more patient successes in our updates as we continue to tell many of their personal stories of bravery. And please follow us on Facebook and share so that others who might have a heart for our kids will join us. It helps us become more visible!
With gratitude,
Darius R. Maggi, MD
